THE STORY BEHIND NORDEN

Yidam Kyap grew up in Tsayeed, Gannan Tibetan Prefecture, in a household of six children. His family lived as both nomads and farmers, a challenging yet self-sufficient way of life that deeply shaped his understanding of resilience and interdependence.

His mother, Tsering Tso, came from the grasslands of Sangke, the place where, in 2013, Yidam would establish Norden Camp.

Growing up close to nature and depending on it for survival inspired Yidam to share the essence of nomadic life: its intimacy with the land, its quiet strength, and its rhythm of coexistence.

Norden Camp reflects this vision, offering guests not only a retreat but also a glimpse into the enduring bond between nomads and the grasslands they call home.
