SURROUNDINGS
Amidst vast, unspoiled landscapes, Norden is located within Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture at an altitude of 3,200 metres.
Beyond to the south lies neighbouring Labrang Monastery, one of the most important sites for Tibetan Buddhism on the Plateau. A place of worship and learning for over a thousand monks, founded in 1709 by the first Jamyang Shepa, Ngawang Tsöndrü.
Norden opens from May through to November, a time of warmth and tranquility, the season of green sprawling pastures and a sea of yellow buttercups, of nature’s bounty and festivities grounded in nature – vibrant and inviting.
